The guys provide some (rational) takes on how the Tigers can improve. Plus, Mekhi Wingo sits down with Jordan Arcement to talk about the No. 18 and his goals for the upcoming year.

🔼 Callin’ Baton Rouge. Saturday night in Death Valley is finally upon us! Can you believe we’re kicking off the 99th season in Tiger Stadium? The Tigers host Grambling State at 6:30pm on Saturday for the home opener. You can pick up a free program featuring Mekhi Wingo and Maason Smith in the stadium. Guest Captains are former Tigers Alley Broussard and Michael Brooks.

🔼 Keeping It Local. The volleyball team is staying home this weekend with in-state foe Southeastern Louisiana coming to the PMAC. The Lions will be coming off a road trip from Texas State when they arrive in Baton Rouge. The Tigers are on a tear through the state of Louisiana, coming off a 3-1 win over Louisiana-Lafayette. The match will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, click here for tickets or watch on SEC Network+.

🔼 In Focus. LSU soccer player Maya Gordon has been through the highs and lows during her five-year career in Baton Rouge. She’s been a part of the Sian Hudson era since the beginning and has experienced her own personal growth as well. Maya is now a team captain and the Tigers are rolling this season. ⚽️ The LSU soccer team ended their match in a 2-2 draw against Pepperdine last night. They take on Northwestern State at the LSU Soccer Stadium at 4:00pm on Sunday. After the game, there will be a free kids clinic! Sign up here to attend.

🔼 Mamba Mentality. The LSU men’s and women’s basketball programs were selected to partner with the Mamba brand and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation ahead of the 2023-2024 season! The foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports. It was founded in memory of Kobe and Gianna “Gigi” Bryant. LSU is one of six partner schools.

Meet Angelica Velez. Today, we’re introducing you to freshman point guard Angelica Velez. She’s from the Bronx, New York but played at The Webb School in Tennessee where she won back-to-back state championships. She was named the 2023 Division II-A Miss Tennessee Basketball Player of the Year. Click here to get to know her better!
