The Path. The LSU football team return to Death Valley for a historic meeting with Grambling in the home opener. Throughout the week, anticipation builds as Maason Smith’s return to the trenches provides the defense with a dominant force once again.

🔼 In Good Hands. Allstate and the AFCA named Mekhi Wingo to the Good Works Team! The team recognizes 22 student-athletes for community impact. Mekhi is part of Team Impact, an LSU football program that helps coordinate visits with sick children. He also serves as LSU’s representative on the SEC Football Leadership Council. At a 2022 Citrus Bowl event, he noticed a little girl had shoes that didn’t fit, so he bought her a new pair.

Mekhi’s selflessness and leadership earned him a spot on the Good Works Team.

🔼 Leading The Way. Volleyball star Anita Anwusi is leading the entire SEC with her .471 hitting percentage. She has three matches with a .600 hitting percentage or higher! Jurnee Robinson is third in the conference with 4.36 kills per set. She’s also fourth in total points with 4.86 per set. The team heads to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday at 4:00pm.

🔼 She Is The Champion. The Tigers women’s golf team finished the season opener in second place. Ingrid Lindblad won her 12th individual title of her collegiate career, taking home co-medalist honors at the Cougar Classic. She tied the school record again with a low round of 64. Aine Donegan tied for ninth with a score of 205. The team finished in second behind Ole Miss with a total of 821.

🎥 MEET THE NEWCOMER

Meet Hailey Van Lith. Today, we’re introducing you to one of the top transfers in the country: Hailey Van Lith. She comes to LSU with 1,553 career points after playing three seasons at Louisville. She led the Cardinals to three NCAA Tournaments and earned Most Outstanding Player of the 2022 Wichita Regional. She’s played with Team USA and has earned five gold medals.
