🔼  All Aboard The Nuss Bus. The Tigers closed out the football season on New Year’s Day with a 35-31 win over Wisconsin! Garrett Nussmeier proved his reliability in the ReliaQuest Bowl — backed into their own endzone, the quarterback led the Tigers 98 yards down the field to get the lead with 3:08 left. He was named the ReliaQuest Bowl MVP, going 31-for-45 for 395 passing yards and three touchdowns. Brian Thomas Jr. caught two of those touchdowns passes and added 98 receiving yards. Malik Nabers broke the LSU record for most career receiving yards in program history with 3,003. Major Burns led the defense with 13 tackles. This was LSU’s largest bowl comeback (14 points) in program history.

Double-Digits. In his second season coaching LSU, Coach Brian Kelly has completed his second 10-win season. Starting off 2024 with a win is nothing to complain about. The Tigers will be back on September 1 for the Vegas Kickoff Classic at Allegiant Stadium against USC.

🔼 Mike Will Made It. The conference named Mike Williams the SEC Freshman of the Week after a career game against Northwestern State. He scored a season-high 20 points in just 21 minutes of play. The freshman went 6-of-9 from three and added one rebound and one assist. He’s averaging 7.8 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals. They’ll be back at it on Saturday to start SEC play at Texas A&M.
