The Powerhouse. Through early-season adversity, Coach Johnson has emphasized the importance of taking baseball game-by-game, and pitch-by-pitch. Senior right-handed pitcher Will Hellmers knows this to be true. His pregame hype speeches are a hallmark of the program, and there’s no one better suited to give them than Wild Bill.

🔼  In-State Showdown. The LSU baseball team is hosting Grambling State this evening at 6:30 pm. The Tigers are 12-0 all-time when playing Grambling and will look to extend that win number to 13. ⚾️ A look at Grambling:

  • Grambling is 15-6 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

  • They’re one-half game behind Texas Southern for first place in their division.

  • They’re hitting .313 as a team, while the pitching staff has a cumulative 8.08 ERA.

🔼 Found Our Fate. Both Tiger tennis teams will take on the NCAA Tournament! The women’s team will play in the Stanford Regional and take on Baylor at noon on Friday. It’ll be their 25th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The men’s team will go to Austin for the Texas Regional, where they’ll play UCLA on Friday at 10 am.

🔼 World Famous. Five Tigers, past and present, will be competing at the World Athletics Relays this weekend! Mikiah Brisco will represent the USA and Shakeem McKay will represent Trinidad and Tobago. Tima Godbless, Favour Ofili, and Ella Onojuvwevwo will represent Nigeria. The meet will be held in Nassau, Bahamas starting on Saturday. The top 14 teams in each event will automatically qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

🔼 Let’s Camp. Calling current high school players and eligible transfers: you’re invited to the LSU Elite ID Camp! The camp is for advanced players wanting to play at the collegiate level.
