Listen Up. We’re inching closer and closer to baseball season, and Coach Jay Johnson has some things to say! Listen to Coach Johnson as he addresses the media on the first day of practice for the 2024 season.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Keep ‘Em Comin’. The national baseball rankings are still rolling in and LSU is high on all of ‘em! The Tigers landed at No. 2 on Baseball America’s Preseason Top-25. They’ll play 19 games against team ranked in their top-25 this season. You can read their LSU preview right here.

🔼 Top-15 Tigers. The USTFCCCA released their top-25 rankings this week and both Tiger track & field teams landed in the top 15! The women’s team moved up two spots to No. 12 and then men made their first top-25 appearance of the season at No. 14. The Tigers have eight marks in the top-10 national rankings, including Brianna Lyston and Alia Armstrong at No. 1 in the 60m and 60mh and John Meyer at No. 2 in shot put.

🔼  Stopped Short. The ninth-ranked women’s basketball team continues to sell out away arenas because everybody wants to see The Show. Unfortunately that doesn’t always go the Tigers’ way. They fell short at Mississippi State in a sold out Humphrey Coliseum last night, 77-73. The Tigers had the lead at the half, but the Bulldogs came back and went into the final quarter with the lead. Angel Reese recorded another double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Flau’Jae Johnson had 18 points, Aneesah Morrow had 14, and Mikaylah Williams had 12.
