What else did we pour into today’s Brew?
🏀 We’re hosting
🤸♂️ Protected the PMAC
🐯 And much, much more!
The Powerhouse. The 2024 LSU Baseball team has exemplified that the culture of this year's squad is second to none. Super senior Alex Milazzo and freshman Steven "Monster" Milam are from opposite sides of the country but share the same passion for playing at LSU, proving that heart is the measurement of a Tiger.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Just Dance. It’s time for March Madness and we’re hosting! The women’s basketball team earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host 14-seed Rice in the first round. They’ll play on Friday at a time that will be announced later on. No. 6 Louisville and No. 11 Middle Tennessee will also face off in the PMAC. Tickets for the first and second rounds will go on sale today at 9 am.
🎟️ Tickets
🔼 Not Done Yet. The men’s basketball team is also hosting! They were selected to play in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). They’ll host North Texas, a team they defeated in November, tomorrow at 6 pm. Tickets are general admission at $20 a piece for adults and $10 for children. They’ll be available to purchase at 9 am this morning as well.
🔼 Clean Sheet. The Tiger softball team recorded their ninth shutout of the season on Saturday in a 3-0 win over Ole Miss. It was Kelley Lynch’s third complete game shutout of the year and her fourth win in the circle. Ciara Briggs and Ali Newland led the way with two hits each. The Tigers took their first loss, falling to Ole Miss 5-2 yesterday in a late rally. They’ll play the last game of the series tonight at 6 pm on the SEC Network.
🔼 A Dozen Roses. The track & field squad recorded 12 top-10 times in program history on Saturday at the Hurricane Invitational. Freshman Trinity Spooner became No. 1 in the country with a 53.58m javelin throw! Will Lawrence secured second-place in the men’s javelin throw with a PR of 73.14m, he moved to No. 3 on the all-time LSU list. Kuda Chadenga won the high jump. On Friday, Lorena Rangel-Batres broke the LSU record with a 9:20.15 time in the women’s 3000m. The men’s 4×400 squad took first-place and set the new early-nation lead.
🔼 Our House. LSU gymnastics doesn’t lose in the PMAC! They finished the regular season undefeated at home after beating North Carolina on Friday. Tiger fans can take some of that credit, it was the third-straight sell-out and the largest crowd of the season. Konnor McClain took the beam victory for her sixth title of the season. Kiya Johnson earned the floor title with a 9.975 score. Aleah Finnegan was the top performer in the all-around for her sixth title. Haleigh Bryant took the vault and bars titles. The team is taking on the SEC Gymnastics Championships in New Orleans next weekend.
