Bayou Brew 6/7: Let's get it started

Today, we're kicking off the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Good morning. We’ll help you get over the hump with a recap video from the Baton Rouge Regional! Check it out here.

What all are we mixing into today's Brew?

🎽 NCAA Championships are here
⛳️ Assistant of the Year
🐯 And much, much more!

Lagniappe. Are you counting down the days until football season? We are too, the answer is 88 days. While we wait, check out the 2022 football season recap on LSU Gold! You can relive the season with highlights and speeches from each week of the SEC West Championship season. Check it out here.

🔼 Let’s Get It Started. Get hyped up! The men’s track and field team will get things started today at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. The meet begins at 2:30pm with the men’s 100m. You can begin watching at 7:30pm on ESPNU. Click here for a sneak peek of what the Tigers have been up to at practice in Texas.

🔼 Stage Is Set. The Super Regional in Baton Rouge is set! The Tigers will play Kentucky beginning Saturday at 2:00pm. Game two will be on Sunday but the time has not yet been determined. If necessary, game three will be on Monday. Tickets will go on sale Friday morning at 9:00am.

🔼 Pebble Beach Bound. LSU women’s golfer Aine Donegan locked down her spot in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open in Pebble Beach. The All-SEC sophomore finished 3-over 145 to secure one of two qualifying spots. She earned second-team All-SEC honors this season and secured three top 10 finishes. The U.S. Open begins in July.

🔼  Have A Day. Congratulations to one of LSU’s finest for being named WGCA DI Assistant Coach of the Year! Coach Alexis Rather has not only been coaching LSU for 13 years, but she was also a four-year letter winner with the Tigers. She’s made 10 NCAA Tournament team appearances as a coach, including this years NCAA Championship appearance. She’s fierce on the course but she also goes all over the world hunting for new Tigers.

Bayou Traditions raises funds to provide Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) opportunities to LSU student-athletes—making NIL deals more accessible and sustainable and allowing student-athletes to gain finance and business experience without compromising their focus on studies and sports.

NIL is a competitive space and now influences where an athlete attends college. We need the Tiger community to join us and keep LSU at the forefront of NIL!

Super Good. The Tigers have the most Super Regional appearances of any team in this year’s Sweet 16.

Do you know how many LSU has?
