Drafted. With Paul Skenes making his MLB debut this weekend, let’s rewind to the moment he was drafted. Before he became the No. 1 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, LSU Baseball pitcher and America's Ace Paul Skenes was a little kid with big dreams. From California and Colorado to Baton Rouge and Pittsburgh, from behind the plate to on top of the mound, Skenes' journey to the draft has been unlike any other.

🔼  Louisianimals. There’s no stopping these Fighting Tigers! LSU softball took down top-seeded Tennessee to advance to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Kelley Lynch and Sydney Berzon held the Vols to just one run in LSU’s 2-1 victory. Ali Newland went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. With the way the tournament is going, there’s no telling when this semifinal game against the winner of Arkansas and Missouri will be played — so follow along for updates on @LSUsoftball on X.

🔼 Friday Night Lights. LSU baseball is at Alabama this weekend as they search for their fourth-straight SEC series win. The Tigers started the week with a 6-5 win over Northwestern State. Luke Holman ranks No. 2 in the SEC with 98 strikeouts and he holds opponents to a .174 batting average. The Tide has a 10-14 SEC record so far this season. First pitch is tonight at 6 pm, they’ll continue tomorrow at 4 pm, and finish the series on Sunday at 1 pm. All three games will stream on SEC Network+.

🔼 Javelin Jive. LSU track & field finished day one at the SEC Championships with six points each. Will Lawerence took bronze in javelin for the men’s team to score their points. Trinity Spooner also got a bronze finish in the women’s javelin to earn their points. Brianna Lyston finished first in the 200m prelims and Thelma Davies finished fourth to advance to the finals. Michaela Rose and Lorena Rangel Batres punched their tickets to the 800m final. Da’Marcus Fleming will run in the 200m final for the men’s team.

🔼 The Paul Skenes Show. Former All-American Tiger Paul Skenes will be making his MLB debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow. The Pirates drafted Paul No. 1 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. He’s been dominating Triple-A ball this season, allowing just three earned runs and striking out 45 in 27.1 innings. He’ll play the Chicago Cubs tomorrow at 5:05 pm CT.
