Where’s That Tiger? Gretchen Sheirr, President of Business Operations for the Houston Rockets, joins Leighann Westfall and Justin Vincent on this week's edition of Where's That Tiger. Sheirr, a former diver at LSU, looks back at her favorite moments at LSU, and walks listeners through her day-to-day running an NBA organization.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 King Kling. Tigers win! It was a Wednesday night thriller in Hammond when the Tigers took down Southeastern Louisiana, 4-3. The scoring got started when LSU went up 1-0 in the fifth inning, but the Lions came back to score in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings. The Tigers trailed 1-3 going into the top of the ninth. Steven Milam got on base and Mac Bingham walked, to bring up Ethan Frey with two outs and two on. His double scored Monster Milam. Paxton Kling came up to the plate and hit a double to score two Tigers, making the score 4-3. Kade Anderson started the game and threw a career-high 13 strikeouts.
🔼 Tigers Bloom. Two Tigers earned 2024 SEC Indoor Track & Field Awards! Michaela Rose was named SEC Co-Runner of the Year as she’s had a record-breaking season so far. Taylor Fingers was named SEC Co-Freshman Field Athlete of the Year after earning a silver medal in the women’s triple jump at her first SEC Championship meet. She was the highest finisher of the meet for freshmen on both the men’s and women’s side.
🔼 Tigers On Top. LSU took over the USA Today All-SEC Honors! Angel Reese was named Player of the Year and First Team All-SEC, Aneesah Morrow was named Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-SEC, and Flau’Jae Johnson was named Second Team All-SEC. This is the second day in-a-row the Tigers got some big time SEC honors.
🔼 Moving Forward. The five finalists for the Cheryl Miller Award were announced and Aneesah Morrow was one of them! The award goes to the top small forward in the country. She’s had 18 double-double’s this season. She averages 16.7 points and 10 rebounds per game.
