🔼 Tigers Take The Tourney. Cowboy hats, country music, and college basketball — that’s what you’ll find in Nashville this week! The men’s basketball team plays their first game of the SEC Tournament at noon today against Mississippi State. The Tigers are looking for a little revenge after losing to the Bulldogs at home earlier in the season. The game will air on SEC Network and the LSU Sports Radio Network.

🔼 Sailing To The ‘Ship. It was a successful week for the Tigers at the NCAA Zone D Diving Regional! Montserrat Gutierrez Lavenant qualified for the NCAA Championship in all three of her dives. She rewrote her own school record on platform, scoring a 349.20, and qualified for the one-meter. She and Helle Tuxen qualified in the women’s three-meter dive and platform events. Maggie Buckley also qualified in the platform event. Carson Paul will compete at the NCAA Championship in the men’s three-meter, one-meter, and platform dive.

🔼 Midweek Sweep. LSU baseball completed their midweek series sweep with a 7-0 win over North Dakota State! Six pitchers — Griffin Herring, Christian Little, Nic Bronzini, Will Hellmers, Cam Johnson, Aiden Moffett — contributed to the shutout and compiled a combined 13 strikeouts. Mac Bingham hit his second homer of the year and went 2-for-4 at the plate. They’ll begin SEC play this weekend at Mississippi State.

🔼  Tigers In The Ranks. Let’s take a look at where Tiger teams landed in this week’s polls:

• The 23-0 softball team came in as the unanimous No. 2 team this week. They continue to be the only undefeated DI program in the country.

• Baseball was also ranked No. 2 by Baseball America, D1Baseball, Perfect Game, and the Coaches. The NCBWA ranked them No. 3.

• Gymnastics kept the No. 2 train rolling. They came in at No. 2 overall, No. 1 on floor, No. 2 on vault, No. 3 on bars, and No. 5 on beam.

• Beach volleyball came in at No. 8 in the AVCA Poll after a bye week.

• Women’s basketball remains at No. 8 going into Selection Sunday.

• Men’s tennis was ranked No. 28 and women’s tennis ranked No. 41.

🎙 IN THE DIRT

In the newest episode of In The Dirt, hosts Alex Milazzo and Hayden Travinski are joined by freshmen Ashton Larson and Derrick Mitchell. They draft the best LSU Baseball jerseys of all time. Larson did his homework, but Mitchell has a unique approach that stuns the hosts. The boys then preview the upcoming start of SEC play and chat travel -- especially the Bus 1 vs. Bus 2 debate.
