🔼 Reese’s Recognition. After reaching 2,000 career point over the weekend, Angel Reese was named the Naismith National Player of the Week! She’s recorded at least 15 rebounds in three-straight games. Last week, she averaged 18 points and 17.5 rebounds in wins against Auburn and Tennessee. She leads the SEC with 19.1 points per game and 12.9 rebounds per game.

🔼 New Groove. The weekly honors continued when the SEC named softball’s Ali Newland the Player of the Week! She had 10 hits, including four extra-base hits, eight RBIs, two home runs, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and a .556 on-base percentage. She was also immaculate in the outfield! She currently ranks No. 10 in the conference with 16 RBIs.

🔼 Tigers & Dawgs. Men’s basketball is hosting Georgia tonight in the PMAC! Tip-off is at 6 pm, but the first 500 students will receive free Whataburger — so get there quick! This is the first of the final two home games for the Tigers. You can tune in on SEC Network and the LSU Sports Radio Network.

🔼  Tigers In The Ranks. Let’s see where LSU teams stand in this week’s rankings!

• Gymnastics remains at No. 2 in the week eight rankings. They’re ranked No. 1 on floor, No. 2 on vault, No. 4 on beam, and No. 5 on bars.

• Baseball came in at No. 2 in the Baseball America and Coaches polls, and No. 3 in the D1Baseball and Perfect Game polls.

• Softball jumped to No. 3 in the D1Softball poll and No. 5 by Softball America.

• After three wins in seven days, the women’s basketball team moved back into the top-10 at No. 9!
