Bayou Brew 12/19: Not-So Secret Santas

Today, football takes some kids shopping, AP Poll update, and the perfect present!

Good morning. Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels has a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame right now, check it out! Yesterday was Jayden’s birthday — winning multiple awards, including the Heisman, in your birth month has to be a great birthday present. Thanks for the memories, Jayden!

What did we pour into today's Brew?

🏈 Shopping spree
🎁 The perfect present
🐯 And much, much more!

An Ultimate Competitor. Let’s look back on Jayden’s time at LSU. He made the difficult decision to transfer to LSU, won the starting quarterback job and the confidence of his teammates and football coaches with his competitive fire and cool demeanor. After leading the Tigers to 10 wins and the SEC Championship Game, Jayden returns for one more year, determined to leave his legacy at LSU.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Shopping Spree. The LSU football team took a break from ReliaQuest Bowl prep and took 100 kids on a shopping spree! LSU football, Hancock Whitney, and Kelly Cares Foundation teamed up to give members of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana on a one-hour shopping spree at Wal Mart. Afterwards, members of the coaching staff and their families wrapped presents with the Boys and Girls Club.

🔼 Some Things Stay The Same. For the sixth-straight week, the LSU women’s basketball team came in at No. 7 in the AP Poll. The Tigers had two wins last week, including a program record in points scored and margin of victory over McNeese. They did not allow either of their opponents to score more than 45 points. Dating back to last season, LSU has been in the AP Top-10 in the last 19 polls. They’re headed to Baltimore, Maryland this week for a game at Coppin State on Wednesday.

🔼 The Perfect Present. Still Christmas shopping? We have the perfect present for any Tiger fan in your life! The Nautilus Publishing Company has partnered with LSU Athletics and the Tiger Athletic Foundation to publish two oversized, foil stamped and embossed, coffee table books to commemorate the two most recent LSU National Championship teams. Each book has more than 250 beautiful photos and features an introduction by the teams’ respective coaches — Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kim Mulkey and Baseball Head Coach Jay Johnson.

Each book retails for $45, but you can purchase both books (the Championship Bundle) and save $20!
