📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Schooled. The Tigers volleyball team took down UL-Lafayette in a morning matchup yesterday, 3-1. LSU held the Ragin’ Cajuns to just a 0.66 hitting percentage. Jade Demps got her second double-double of the season and led the Tigers with 15 kills while Jurnee Robinson had 11 and Sanaa Dotson had 10. Maddie Waak tallied her fifth career double-double with 42 assists and 20 digs. The crowd was full of young Tiger fans who got to escape school and take a field trip to the PMAC.

🔼 It’s Showtime. If you’re in the Baton Rouge area, don’t forget to come to TJ Ribs on South Acadian Thruway tonight at 7:00pm for the Brian Kelly Show! Chris Blair and Coach Kelly will be taking questions submitted online or tweeted at @LSURadio. If you can’t make it, you can listen at LSUsports.net/live, on the LSU Sports app, and on Eagle 98.1 FM.

🔼 A Lasting Impact. There was a familiar face on the MLB Network yesterday, Coach Jay Johnson joined the crew to talk about the impact of Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews to LSU and the locker room. He also discusses their rise through the minors and the upcoming 2024 season. Dylan holds a .317 batting average with 5 home runs and 27 RBIs in the minors. Paul had 5 starts and was placed on the development list, so we won’t see him again until next season.

🔼 Fever Pitch. LSU soccer returns to action tonight as they host Pepperdine at 6:00pm. LSU is coming off a big win over Texas A&M-Commerce and Pepperdine last drew at Harvard. If you’re hungry, come early — the first 100 students get free pizza! If you can’t make the game, it’ll be streaming on SEC Network+.

🔼 Mark Your Calendars. The SEC women’s basketball schedule is here! The reigning National Champions will tip off the conference schedule on January 4 at home against Missouri. Coach Mulkey & Co. have finished the last two seasons second in the conference, behind South Carolina. The two will play each other in Baton Rouge on January 25. The SEC Tournament will be held March 6-10.

🎥 MEET THE NEWCOMERS

Meet Carlos Stewart. Today, we’re introducing you to men’s basketball newcomer Carlos Stewart. He’s a junior guard wearing No. 1. He spent two seasons at Santa Clara where he earned First Team All-WCC honors last season, before deciding to come home to Baton Rouge. Last year, he was second on the team and 11th in the conference with 15.2 points per game. The Baton Rouge native attended The Dunham School and was the second-ranked recruit in the state. He was also named 2020-21 Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Basketball.
