Bayou Brew 11/3: Prime Time Tigers

Today, we're preparing for a big-time weekend.

Good morning. It’s finally Friday, which means we’re one step closer to game day! Let’s relive some of the wins over Alabama in Tuscaloosa over the years.

What did we pour into today's Brew?

🏈 Prime time Tigers
🏀 Terrific trio
🐯 And much, much more!

Piece By Piece. What started as a group of assorted puzzle pieces turned into a stunning masterpiece when the LSU Women’s Basketball team won the 2023 NCAA National Championship - the first in program history. Led by Head Coach Kim Mulkey, it took the Tigers only two years to reach the pinnacle of college basketball with their explosive offense, gritty defense and a group of characters who saw their brands explode throughout the course of the season.

Hearing Voices. On this week's edition of Hearing Voices, Chris Blair travels down to Tuscaloosa to visit with the great Eli Gold, who returned to the booth this season after a lengthy battle with cancer. The guys talk about his fight, being back on air, while also previewing Saturday's contest at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

🔼 Prime Time Tigers. LSU will face No. 8 Alabama in Tuscaloosa on the big stage at 6:45pm on Saturday, on CBS. Jayden Daniels is looking to become the first quarterback to beat Alabama in back-to-back years since Drews Brees did it at Purdue in 1998-99. Last year, the Tigers claimed the SEC Western Division by beating Alabama in overtime, 32-31.

🔼 Let’s Go To The Beach. The football team isn’t the only Tiger squad to be spending the weekend in Alabama. The beach volleyball team is sending two pairs to the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships in Huntsville, Alabama this weekend! Ellie Shank, Gabi Bailey, Parker Bracken, and Reilly Allred will be making the trip. Ellie won the tournament last fall with Kylie Deberg. The rest of the team will be at home for the LSU Fall Competition.

🔼  Terrific Trio. Three Tigers were named to the WBCA Preseason Wade WatchlistAneesah Morrow, Angel Reese, and Hailey Van Lith. LSU is the only school with three players on the list. The Wade Trophy goes to the best women’s college basketball player in the nation. All three of them started and scored double-digit points in Wednesday’s exhibition game. This will be Aneesah and HVL’s first season with the Tigers as they get things started on Monday in the Hall of Fame Series against No. 20 Colorado.

Opportunity Awaits. All eyes will be on Tuscaloosa this weekend. For one final time in CBS' primetime slot, LSU and Alabama will take center stage with the SEC West at stake. Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn are back after taking a bye week of their own to break down keys to victory as the Tigers prepare to invade Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday night.

Today’s trivia question…

Who is the only Tiger to win the Wade Trophy?
