Uncut. The Dick Howser Trophy is considered the Heisman Trophy of college baseball. This year’s recipient was our very own Paul Skenes. Jump into this episode of Uncut to watch the 2023 Dick Howser Trophy Presentation. 

🔼 Run It Back. The Tigers dropped one to the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest last night in their second game of the Men’s College World Series. Ty Floyd got the start and tied his career high with 10 strikeouts. All of LSU’s action came in the third, with a Tommy White RBI double and a Tre’ Morgan RBI triple. The Deacs won 3-2.

LSU will play Tennessee tonight for the fifth time this season. The Tigers are 3-1 against the Vols, including a 6-3 win on Saturday night. First pitch is at 6:00pm CT and will be live on ESPN.

🔼 Stars & Stripes. A couple of LSU athletes will be wearing red, white, and blue during this offseason.

🇺🇸 Hailey Van Lith will be playing basketball with Team USA again in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series. She’ll be playing for the U24 team in select events leading up to the final in Mongolia. She won gold with Team USA at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup earlier this month.

🇺🇸 Anita Anwusi was selected to the USA Volleyball 2023 Women’s Collegiate National Team. The middle blocker is the sixth player in program history to receive this invite. They will train from June 18-24 to prepare for the Volleyball Nations League.

🔼 Man Of The Year. For the third year in-a-row, an LSU male runner has been named the outdoor regional athlete of the year. Godson Oghenebrume got the nod this time, winning the South Central Region Track Athlete of the Year by USTFCCCA. This honor will sit next to his two First Team All-American honors, two First Team All-SEC honors, two SEC titles, and a gold medal from the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Powerhouse. Home runs have come easy for the Tigers this season, they have 135 homers so far.
