Bayou Brew 4/20: SEC Championships Await

Today, there are three Tiger teams competing for an SEC Championship.

Developing Talent. Jump into spring football practice on LSU Gold! This episode features the Tigers young talent and their development. Watch all the sights and sounds of practice before the 2023 spring game, here.

🔼 Among The Best. Gymnast Haleigh Bryant has already proven herself to be one of the best in LSU history, but now she is a 2023 Honda Award Finalist for gymnastics. The Honda Award is the best of the best and the winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Haleigh averaged a 9.900+ across all events this season and ended with nine All-American honors.

🔼 The Gauntlet. The Tigers sit in 12th place after day one at the SEC Championship men’s golf tournament, where they collectively shot 282 (+2). Connor Gaunt and Drew Doyle lead the Tigers, both shooting 69 and tied for 23rd. Round two continues today.

🔼 Spring Fever. The National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s is this Saturday at 1:00pm in Tiger Stadium. Fans will get to see the offense and the defense go at it, with some special teams work included. Seating is general admission and free of charge, so there’s no excuse to miss out! The game will also be available to watch on SEC Network+.

🔼 Tennis Time. The 32nd ranked men’s tennis team is opening SEC Championship play today at noon against Ole Miss. Ronald Hohmann was named SEC Co-Player of the Week after going perfect in singles and winning doubles. He is now ranked No. 75 in singles and No. 50 in doubles with his partner Nick Watson.

Tee Time. LSU men’s golf has a handful of national championships, dating back to 1940.
