Spring Football Recap. Jacob Hester and Harrison Valentine recap the LSU Spring Game on this episode of Hey Fightin’ Podcast. Hear the guys talk about QB Jayden Daniels’ improvement through the spring, overall team improvements from last season, and the standards of LSU football.

🔼 Close Us Out. We’re wrapping up the regular softball season here at home this weekend with No. 11 Georgia coming to town. Each day before the game, one of the three LSU seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony, so don’t miss out! One of those seniors, Ali Kilponen, has gone 12-6 in the circle and sits at No. 9 all-time in the LSU record book with 56 career wins and 463 strikeouts. Senior Georgia Clark has 40 hits and ranks No. 5 in the conference with 38 walks, she’s got a good eye!

Raining Cats And Dawgs. The Tigers hold a 43-26 advantage over Georgia all-time and won the last meeting, 2-1. The Bulldogs are riding a six-game win streak right now and may be the hottest team in the SEC. They have a whopping eight batters averaging over .300.

The fun begins tonight at 6:00pm!

🔼 Playin’ On The Plains. The Tigers baseball team will head to the Plains to play the other Tigers of Auburn this weekend. Our Tigers are on a four game winning streak that includes a sweep of Auburn’s rival, Alabama. LSU has also won seven straight SEC games and back-to-back sweeps. Auburn is tied with Alabama for third in the SEC West and they rank seventh in batting average across the SEC, LSU is first. Expect a good weekend from our hitters considering Auburn holds a 6.38 ERA. The action starts tonight at 6:00pm on SEC Network+!

🔼 Team USA. There may be some summer basketball in store for Flau’jae Johnson and Angel Reese, they have been selected to to try out for the 2023 USA Women’s Basketball AmeriCup Team from May 11-15. The pair will join 20 other collegiate players to compete for a spot on Team USA that will compete in the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in July.

🔼 Sandy Shores. Beach volleyball is prepped and ready to start the NCAA Beach Championship this morning in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The 5-seeded Tigers will take on No. 12 FAU at 11:00am and you can tune in on ESPNU! The Tigers already defeated FAU, 3-0, earlier in the season. The winner will play the winner of No. 4 FSU and No. 13 FIU tomorrow morning, so be sure to follow along.

All-American Girls. We keep talking about All-American’s, but the honors just keep rolling in! Kylie DeBerg and Ellie Shank picked up AVCA First Team All-American honors after posting a 22-11 record on the sand. The duo earned the first Fall AVCA Pairs National Championship and the USA Volleyball Women’s Beach Collegiate Championship as well.

In The Draft. Coach Brian Kelly has had plenty of success when it comes to sending college football players to the NFL.
