🔼 Seventh Heaven. LSU returned to the pinnacle of college baseball last night, winning 18-4 over SEC rival Florida to win its seventh national championship and the 2023 College World Series!
Second-year head coach Jay Johnson became the first coach to win a title prior to his third season at an institution as the Tigers overcame a 2-0 first-inning deficit by scoring six in the second and four in the fourth inning to take a commanding 10-2 lead.
Thatcher Hurd earned his second win in the series—throwing six innings and allowing only two runs on two hits while striking out seven.
Offensively, the Tigers amassed 24 hits, the program’s most hits in a CWS game. Every starter in the LSU lineup had at least one hit in last night’s victory.
🔼 Save The Dates. Break out those calendars and red sharpies—we’ve got home and away opponents confirmed for next year! LSU men’s basketball’s 18-game conference schedule has been announced. Dates, times, and TV info will be announced by the league and LSU at a later date, but we know that the first conference playing date is set for Saturday, January 6, 2024.
🏠 Home Sweet Home
LSU will as always in the 18-game schedule plays its three permanent home-and-away opponents—Alabama, Arkansas and Texas A&M. The Tigers will also play Georgia and Vanderbilt both in Baton Rouge and on the road.
LSU’s four other league home games will be against will be against Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Missouri.
✈️ On The Road (Again)
The four single games on the road will be at Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
🤝 New Arrivals
This will be the final 14-team schedule before Texas and Oklahoma join the league for the 2024-2025 basketball season, with the league expecting to continue with an 18-game conference schedule.

Two days, two times the answer is Southern. Jayden Daniels was (almost) perfect in the Tigers’ home opener last season, going 10-for-11 for 137 yards and three touchdowns—finishing with a whopping 90.9% passing.
