Good morning! It was a milestone-reaching weekend for some Tigers, including Angel Reese who reached 2,000 career points in yesterday’s win over Tennessee!

🔼 Meeting Milestones. LSU’s win over Northern Illinois on Saturday was Coach Jay Johnson’s 100^th LSU victory! He became the fastest head coach to reach 100 wins in program history. Luke Holman threw seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to get the win. The fun continued on Sunday with an 18-10 win over Stony Brook. Tommy White led the Tigers with four RBI, while Hayden Travinski, Michael Braswell, and Jared Jones drove in three each. Jared hit a two-run homer to mark his fourth of the season.

🔼 Spring Sweeping. The softball team remains undefeated (13-0) after sweeping the 2024 Tiger Classic this weekend. The LSU pitchers, Raelin Chaffin and Emillee Casanova, delivered two shutouts on Saturday, defeating Houston and Austin Peay. They also picked up wins over Boise State throughout the weekend. The offense hit .400 at the plate with 20 hits and three home runs. Ali Newland, Taylor Pleasants, and Danieca Coffey contributed to the home run party.

🔼 Solid Start. The beach volleyball team started the season 3-1 at the competitive Third Coast College Classic. They started off defeating No. 15 Washington, 4-1, and Houston Christian, 5-0. On Saturday, they swept Central Arkansas before dropping to No. 4 TCU. They’ll host the home opener this weekend at the Tiger Beach Challenge!

🔼 Title Town. The Tigers are bringing home some hardware from the SEC Indoor Track & Field Championship! Brianna Lyston won the women’s 60m, the first of her career. Michaela Rose won her third 800m SEC title and led the team in scoring with 11 points. Alia Armstrong and Leah Phillips took silver and bronze, respectively, in the 60m hurdle. Lorena Rangel-Batres won silver in the one-mile. The women’s team finished in third-place overall. The men’s team was led by Myles Thomas with six points and won bronze in the 60m.
