Hearing Voices. SEC play has arrived! On this week’s episode of Hearing Voices, Chris Blair heads to Starkville to catch up with Neil Price, the Voice of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The guys talk matchups and give listeners a preview of what to expect on Saturday’s pivotal early season showdown.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Business Trip. It’s game weekend, but this one is a little sweeter than the others — we’re kicking off SEC play in Starkville against Mississippi State. It’ll be an 11am game, so make sure your coffee is brewed and breakfast is served early. SEC Nation will be in Starkville starting at 8am sharp on the SEC Network. Kickoff is on ESPN at 11am, or you can listen live here.

The Tigers have won four of the last five against the Bulldogs. Mississippi State is coming off of a 31-24 overtime win over Arizona while LSU is coming off a dominant 72-10 win over Grambling. This one is bound to be fun.

🔼 Taking Over Texas. The volleyball team is off to the Lone Star State for the SMU Invitational in Dallas. The tournament runs today through Sunday as the Tigers will meet Texas A&M-Corpus Christi today at 4pm, Texas Tech tomorrow at 2pm, and SMU on Sunday at 12:30pm. Sunday’s match will be the only one streaming, on ESPN+.

🔼 Road Trippin’. Football isn’t the only thing SEC play is starting in, the soccer team is headed to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. The Tigers are looking for revenge after losing to Ole Miss last year in the SEC Tournament. LSU is sitting at 5-2-1 and coming off a win over Northwestern State. Mollee Swift recorded her 300th career save during that game! The match begins tonight at 7pm on SEC Network+.

🔼 Mark Your Calendars. The 2024 baseball season starts mid-February at Alex Box Stadium! The Tigers will play 27 games against teams that were in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, including six games against College World Series teams. The highlight of the non-conference schedule will be a trip to Minute Maid Park for the Astros Foundation Classic with Texas, UL-Lafayette, and Texas State. The Tigers will play fall exhibition games at McNeese on Nov. 5 and at home against UL-L on Nov. 12.

Meet Janae Kent. Today, we’re introducing you to freshman guard Janae Kent. At 6’1, she often gets mistaken for a post player, which only enhances her game. She’s from Oak Forest High School in Illinois where she scored over 1,000 career points. She also earned multiple South Suburban (Chicago) Player of the Year awards.
