🔼 All-American Boys. Three Tigers were named AP Preseason All-America selections! Linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. was named to the first team after his great freshman campaign. He earned SEC Player of the Week honors during a three-week stretch last season. Receiver Malik Nabers and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo were second team selections. Malik became the 10th 1,000-yard receiver in school history as a sophomore last season, leading the conference in receptions. Mekhi earned third-team All-American honors from the AP last year when he was the anchor on the d-line.

🔼  Fall Ball. LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson met with the media yesterday with a 2024 roster update and to schedule out the fall season. The national champions will start fall practice on Oct. 5 and will scrimmage at McNeese Nov. 5, ULL at home Nov. 12, and the Purple & Gold World Series will be the following weekend. New pitching coach Nate Yeskie joined the presser along with Terry Rooney.

In other baseball news, Paul Skenes was promoted from single-A to double-A ball with the Altoona Curve. At this rate, we’ll be seeing Paul and Dylan in the big leagues before we know it!

🔼 Summer Of Tigers At The Tee. Tigers from the women’s golf team went all across the world after college golf season ended in May — from Pebble Beach and Los Angeles to England, Scotland, Sweden, and Finland.

⛳️ Ingrid Lindblad received the 2023 Mark McCormack Medal as the top women’s amateur golfer. She won bronze at the European Ladies Amateur Championship and was a semifinalist in the R&A Women’s Amateur. She made the cut in the professional Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed event and earned a spot in the AIG Women’s Open.

⛳️ Latanna Stone played in the two most prestigious amateur events of the summer — the U.S. Women’s Open and the R&A Women’s Open. She reached the championship match at the U.S. Amateur after one of the toughest gauntlets offered.

⛳️ Carla Tejedo won gold on Spain’s team, defeating the 2021 and 2022 champions in the European Ladies’ Team Championship. She was one of five LSU golfers to make match play in the R&A Women’s Amateur.

⛳️ Aine Donegan became a fan-favorite at the U.S. Women’s Open as one of four amateurs to make the cut. She made it to match play in the R&A Amateur, and had a third-place finish in the Irish Women’s Close Championship. She also competed in the U.S. Women’s Amateur and the European Ladies Amateur.

⛳️ Taylor Riley was on fire, rising 1,100 spots in from July to August after the Southern California amateur circuit. She won the San Diego City Amateur and advanced to the semis of the California State Women’s Amateur. She made it to the round of 16 and tied for ninth in the U.S. Women’s Amateur.

⛳️ Edit Hertzman made it to match play in the R&A Women’s Amateur. She also played in the European Ladies Amateur and the JSM Slag.

⛳️ Jordan Fischer is an incoming freshman who took part in some of Florida’s top events. She became the first amateur to win the Florida Women’s Open. She finished fifth in the Florida Women’s Amateur Championship.
