🔼 LSU ➡️ Paris. Former Tigers Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss have stuck together throughout their professional careers. The duo has been selected to play for Team USA at the Paris Olympics! They’re ranked No. 2 in the world in the FIVB rankings and are the top-ranked American duo. They become the first two LSU beach volleyball alums to qualify for the Olympics. Beach volleyball competition kicks off July 27 at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
None of this would be happening if it was not for LSU. This is where Taryn and I met, and this is where Taryn and I built and solidified this partnership. LSU will always hold a very, very special place in my heart.
🔼 Best In The Boot. Three LSU women’s tennis players were named to the 2024 Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s All-Louisiana teams! Anita Sahdiieva and Aran Teixidó Garcia earned first team spots, while Florentine Dekkers landed on the second team. The Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
🔼 Perfect Pair. Is there a better coach/athlete duo than Jay Clark and Haleigh Bryant? LSU gymnastics head coach Jay Clark and student-athlete Haleigh Bryant were named finalists for the 2023-24 Louisiana Collegiate Coach of the Year and James J. Corbett Awards by the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Corbett Awards recognize the top male and female amateur athletes in Louisiana. The Coach of the Year Award will be announced on June 28 and the Corbett Awards will be announced July 8.
🔼 Sweet Summertime. A load of Tigers are off to different summer collegiate baseball leagues! The Northwoods League season is already underway, while the Cape Cod League season begins this Saturday.
