The @LSUbaseball Twitter account reached more social media engagements than any MLB team on Draft Day One. Pro Tigers. Tre’ Morgan and Gavin Dugas are now professional baseball playera! Let’s take a look back to early in the season with episode two of The Powerhouse. This episode looks at Gavin Dugas and Tre’ Morgan, who were both born and raised in Louisiana. The two had to embrace whatever role it took to help lead the Tigers to a trophy.

🔼 Tampa Bay Tre’. Tigers continued to take on the MLB Draft yesterday. Tre’ Morgan heard his name called to the Tampa Bay Rays at pick number 88 in the third round. The first baseman made the 2023 CWS All-Tournament Team after batting .344 with three doubles, one triple, six RBIs, and six runs.

🔼 Not Done Yet. The Bash Brothers are sticking together in DC! The Washington Nationals selected Gavin Dugas in the sixth round of the MLB Draft. The Houma Hammer spent five years at LSU and ended at No. 10 on the LSU all-time list for home runs. Dylan Crews was drafted by Washington in the first round.

🔼 Off The Court. The LSU women’s tennis team hit the books hard this year, the team was recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team which means they had a GPA of 3.20 or higher. Four student-athletes were named ITA Scholar Athletes in Kylie Collins, Maggie Cubitt, Nina Geissler, and Mia Rabinowitz. Scholar Athletes must have a 3.50 GPA or higher.

🔼 Talkin’ Season. SEC Media Days is right around the corner, running from July 17 - July 20. Coach Brian Kelly will be joined by senior quarterback Jayden Daniels, senior running back Josh Williams, and junior defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo. LSU will take over day one alongside Missouri and Texas A&M, the Tigers rotation with the media will run from 10:30am - 1:45pm. The event will be held in Nashville this year at the Grand Hyatt and you can tune in to all the action on the SEC Network.
