Bayou Brew 8/7: Tigers On Tour

Today, there are LSU sports being played!

Good morning. And Happy Monday! Cure the Monday blues with some home runs from a couple of pro Tigers. Dylan Crews hit his first professional Crews Missile on Sunday with the Fredericksburg Nationals right before Gavin Dugas did the same! Sahvanna Jaquish had two homers over the weekend and her Texas Smoke team became WPF Regular Season Champions.

What else did we pour into today's Brew?

🔼 Ballin’ In Paradise. The LSU men’s basketball team is tipping off in Paradise Island in the Bahamas this afternoon against a club squad from Puerto Rico. The Tigers are there for a three-game exhibition tour at the Atlantis Resort throughout this week. They’ll play a team from the Bahamas on Tuesday and the Obras Sanitarias from Argentina on Thursday. There will be no broadcast or streaming, but you can follow along @LSUBasketball and recaps will be available at LSUsports.net.

🔼  Big Three. LSU golfers Taylor Riley, Latanna Stone, and Aine Donegan will be teeing off in the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Los Angeles today. Former Tiger Andrew Whitworth paid the ladies a visit yesterday before things get started. They’ll play two 18-hole qualifying rounds before the top-64 amateurs advance to match play on Wednesday. Television coverage will be available when match play begins on The Golf Channel.

🔼 Mason For The Mackey. The watch lists keep coming out and the Tigers keep finding their names on them. Mason Taylor landed on the John Mackey Award watch list after setting freshman records last season. The award goes to the most outstanding tight end in college football. Mason caught the two-point conversion that beat Alabama in overtime last year.

🔼 He’s The Man(nely). The Patrick Mannely Award watch list includes LSU’s Slade Roy. The award goes to the top long snapper in college football. Slade played in all 14 games last season and is a Preseason Second Team All-SEC specialist.

Today’s trivia question…
