🔼  Home Cookin’. The Tigers are staying hot as they improved to 2-0 in SEC play thanks to a 77-69 win over Vanderbilt last night! Jalen Cook was the star of the show, scoring a season-high 28 points. Jordan Wright was another Tiger in the double-digits, scoring 15 against his old squad. Mike Williams III had 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds, plus two steals. The Tigers were a season-best 87% from the free throw line and recorded 11 steals in the game. They’ll head to Auburn on Saturday for a 5 pm game on the SEC Network.

🔼 Double Trouble. The gymnastics team had two competitors take home SEC awards this week! Haleigh Bryant was named the SEC Gymnast of the Week and Amari Drayton was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. Haleigh finished as the top all-around gymnast in the nation after her 39.675 score against No. 14 Ohio State. Her front pike half vault scored a 9.950. Amari scored a 9.925 on both vault and floor in her collegiate debut.

🔼 Future Is Bright. LSU beach volleyball signee Camryn Chatellier was named the 2023-24 Gatorade Louisiana Volleyball Player of the Year! She led St. Mary’s Dominican High School to a 44-2 record and a fourth-straight Division I state championship this past season. As an outside hitter, she finished her prep volleyball career with 1,497 kills and 1,023 digs.

🔼  Fearless Freshman. The conference announced Mikaylah Williams as the SEC Freshman of the Week! She scored 11 points in her first SEC game, but turned around to score 20 at Ole Miss. Against Missouri, she managed a career-high seven assists and added six rebounds, two steals, and a block. At Ole Miss, she shot 4-for-5 from three-point range. She also stole the ball four times. The freshman ranks No. 2 in the SEC shooting beyond the arc at 45.5%. This is her second Freshman of the Week honor.
