🔼  And A Happy New Year. The Tigers are headed to the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa on New Year’s Day! The 13th-ranked Tigers will play Wisconsin at Raymond James Stadium at 11am. Wisconsin tied for second in the Big Ten Western Division and has a 7-5 overall record. The bowl game will air on ESPN2.

🔼 Our State. The men’s basketball team took down Southeastern 73-66 on Friday night. Will Baker led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Wright had a big game down the stretch, he finished with 16 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Mike Williams had a season-high 15 points and four assists. The Tigers improve to 5-3 overall and will take on Kansas State at 12:30pm on Saturday at the PMAC.

🔼  Sophomore Studs. Three LSU baseball players were named to D1 Baseball’s Top 20 List of Draft-Eligible Sophomores. Pitcher Gavin Guidry, first baseman/catcher Jared Jones, and outfielder Paxton Kling made the list.

• Gavin was one of LSU’s top bullpen arms last season, posting a 3-0 record with three saves. He had big innings in Games 2 and 3 of the College World Series Finals.

• Jared earned Freshman All-America and Freshman All-SEC last season. He had a .304 batting average with 14 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 37 runs.

• Paxton played in 57 games and held a .289 batting average with four homers and 29 runs.

🔼 Hall Of Famer. Former LSU superstar Seimone Augustus will be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame! The Baton Rouge native became the first LSU student-athlete with a statue in LSU’s Plaza of Legacy earlier this year. She helped lead the Tigers to three-straight Final Four Appearances and earned National Player of the Year and SEC Player of the year twice. Her No. 33 jersey hangs from the rafters of the PMAC. She won four championships in her 15-year WNBA career with the Minnesota Lynx.
